# Supply, allocation and vesting

1,000,000,000 $LENS, fixed. Allocation, vesting and circulating supply.

{% hint style="info" %}
Planned design. Figures are illustrative and may change before any launch.
{% endhint %}

|                            |                                              |
| -------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| **Total supply**           | 1,000,000,000 $LENS, minted once             |
| **Emissions** | None. No new tokens are ever created. |
| **Circulating at listing** | 120,000,000 (12%), all of it liquidity       |
| **Contract** | No mint, no transfer tax, no owner functions |

## Allocation

| Allocation                     | Share | Tokens      | Purpose                                                                                                            |
| ------------------------------ | ----- | ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Community and contributors** | 40% | 400,000,000 | Contribution rewards, coverage and research bounties, and a Sybil-filtered distribution to real users of the desk. |
| **Treasury** | 20% | 200,000,000 | Data sources, coverage expansion, audits and grants. Spending requires a governance proposal. |
| **Team**                       | 18%   | 180,000,000 | The people building and running the desk.                                                                          |
| **Liquidity** | 12% | 120,000,000 | Seeding markets at listing, paired and managed by the treasury. |
| **Early backers**              | 10%   | 100,000,000 | Those who funded the build before launch.                                                                          |

## Vesting

All schedules are measured in months from listing.

| Allocation                 | Cliff     | Then                                                                                              | Fully vested      |
| -------------------------- | --------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------- |
| Community and contributors | None | Linear over 48 months, released against contribution and usage programmes, with no upfront unlock | Month 48 |
| Treasury | 12 months | Linear, at a pace set by governance | Set by governance |
| Team                       | 12 months | Linear over 36 months                                                                             | Month 48          |
| Liquidity                  | None      | Unlocked at listing                                                                               | Listing           |
| Early backers              | 12 months | Linear over 24 months                                                                             | Month 36          |

Cliffs apply to the team, the backers and the treasury alike. No insider allocation unlocks ahead of the community, and the backers have no preferential unlock over the team.

## Circulating supply over time

Treasury excluded:

| Month   | Circulating | Share | What changes                                                   |
| ------- | ----------- | ----- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Listing | 120,000,000 | 12%   | Liquidity only.                                                |
| 12      | 220,000,000 | 22%   | Cliffs end; team, backers and treasury begin linear schedules. |
| 24      | 430,000,000 | 43%   |                                                                |
| 36      | 640,000,000 | 64%   | Early backers fully vested.                                    |
| 48      | 800,000,000 | 80%   | Team and community fully vested.                               |

The treasury's 200,000,000 unlocks on the governance schedule after its own cliff.

The step from month 12 to month 24 is the largest. Before launch, the schedule will be reviewed to smooth that year-two unlock, and the final schedule will be published, with its vesting streams, before any liquidity exists.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.scanbylens.xyz/business/token/supply.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
